The Art History 2014 event that took place a couple of Saturdays ago was a hit. The event organized by Art History consisted of many well known street artists painting murals at the Miami Marine Stadium in order to raise funds for the its renovation.  One of the highlights of the day was a $500,000 donation by Gloria Estefan that was inspired by the HoxxoH’s...

I usually attend many art walks and go in search of street art with my husband on art-a-cations. This is small sampling of street art pictures I have taken in Wynwood, Miami and New York from the last few years.

The Miami Marine Stadium Mural Project is well on it’s way boasting a roster of talented artists including: Stinkfish, Axel Void,  HoxxoH, Tatiana Suarez and Abstrk- Ricky Mastrapa. Each artist has created a mural at the stadium of which prints will be produced and sold. Some of the proceeds from the prints will be used to help renovate the stadium and bring...

Wynwood Art Walk has grown exponentially. Though out Wynwood many changes have taken place. Concrete was laid out in the food truck area and in turn the fees went up so there are less food trucks. Good in way, less to choose from and more space to walk; there are craft vendors in the food truck area as well. I saw a pretty cool lamp maker that makes customized...

Last weekend I had the pleasure of witnessing Stinkfish’s work in progress. The murals he painted can now be seen at the Miami Marine Stadium. The once bustling stadium was the site of  a number of live shows from the 1960’s to the 80’s. The stadium holds an important place in Miami’s rich history but now it sits “abandoned”...

The 17th annual Art Palm Beach took place in January featuring contemporary established and emerging art work. It hosted a nice sampling of national and international galleries. Taking place right after the huge Art Basel event one sees many of the same artists and works displayed at this fair. In comparison APB features more craft-centric art such as jewelry and...

The first Art Walk of 2014 started off with a bang. An opening the Thursday prior of a Shepard Fairey show at Gregg Shienbaum served as the main draw.  A wonderfully curated show offered a wide array of originals and prints. The show was well attended by fans and the usual art walk crowd. Later we strolled into Brisky Gallery which was showing some great pieces by...

Last Thursday I attended the opening of 2Alas Los Culpables show show at Gregg Shienbaum Fine Art. I was surprised to see the pieces featured investors like Tesla , Westinghouse and Edison instead of the usual female figures, which is what I’ve mostly seen on the streets of Wynwood.  One of of the most interesting and eye catching pieces what that of the...

It’s been a few weeks since Israel Hernandez- Llach passed away after brutally and stupidly being tasered by one of Miami Beach’s “finest”. The buzz has lulled a bit and there’s an investigation under way of the police department’s case. I attended the gathering on the  Saturday after it happened which was held on the site where...
