Resorts World Miami, which represents a billion investment by Genting Group, comprises approximately 10 million square feet of mixed-use development, making it one of the largest development projects in Florida history. “Resorts World Miami will accelerate Florida’s evolution as a global destination at the crossroads of the Americas,” said Mr. KT Lim, Chairman and Chief Executive of Genting. “Most importantly, Resorts World Miami will boost confidence in Florida’s economy, creating 15000 direct and indirect construction jobs and 30000 permanent positions on an ongoing basis, attracting more inbound investment, and substantially increasing the tax base for the city, county and state.” Rising from 13.9 acres of bayfront land currently housing the Miami Herald Media Company, Resorts World Miami is located in the heart of the City of Miami, midway between Miami International Airport and Miami Beach. “Resorts World Miami introduces a new vocabulary of architecture to Florida, one that is inspired by the ocean and Florida’s coral reefs,” said Bernardo

@vjrei — that’s interesting I was just there, it seems to me more lights are on at night downtown than in the last few years… definitely the three big apt buildings across from AA Arena have more people at home — unless the sales office just putting curtains up and leaving lights on here and there, which is certainly possible — but are you saying Brickell Ikon is 60% empty? Epic?

I guess it’s time for me to move up north and come visit when I feel like it. The Miami that I was born and raised in – is no more.

I think this is a fantastic idea, only if the Casino is as heavily taxed as they are in Vegas. Miami could use a lot of money to rebuild on their infrastructure. We need high – speed eco-frienly and efficient public transport now. The traffic levels have gotten absurd, and parking is ridiculously expensive, along with gas. Change is good sometimes.. we need a new tourism gimmick. As for small businesses around the resort- This could go either way. There definitely will be more traffic
