Indie and Alternative New Releases this Fall
Fall promises a bevy of stellar new music from old favorites and some newer talented artists. Below is my list of most anticipated indie new releases for Fall
Two Door Cinema, Beacon 9/3
The unique and upbeat electro-pop sounds of this band will have you singing and dancing in your car.
Cat Power, Sun 9/4
I just discovered her latest single Ruin on AOL radio’s New Indie station and it really caught my ear. There are many songstresses out there but she’s different, more soulful and spiritual still keeping a fresh sound.
XX, Coexist, 9/10
If you like sexy sultry rhythmic tunes this is the perfect band relaying an indie-pop sound quite unique to them. Think a more updated Mazzy Star with a touch of Cocteau Twins.
Killers, Battle Born 9/18
The Killers can’t do wrong, I own all their albums and they are all quite amazing Not only do they rock killer melodies but the content is varied in substance yet whimsical.
Band of Horses, Mirage Rock 9/18
One of my favorite bands they are always good for a rainy afternoon of writing and reminiscing. Their sound is a little Americana with some indie country undertones.
Muse, The 2nd Law, 10/2
Muse is epic and powerful symphonic space rock featuring out of this world riffs. They have kept in line with their sound despite winning a Grammy for best Album. Oh and the single “Unsustainable” was inspired by a Skrillex show attended by the band, not sure if that’s good or bad.
Ellie Goulding, Halcyon, 10/9
Yea she hit the top 40 charts with her single “Lights” but her voice whispers sweet melodies with dreamy synth sounds to go along.
Kid Cudi, Indicud, Sometime at the end of 2012
I lost my first Kid Cudi CD and never bought one to replace it (I should’ve). This kid is truly talented with an original and fresh take on hip hop.
